Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced the revised academic programmes of ME.d and BE.d teachers training according to the road-map made by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

The last date for the application forms submission is September 28th, 2017.

These teachers training programmes are well-matched to the current teaching programmes in other varsities of Pakistan.

After the introduction of reforms of higher education commission in teaching program, AIOU was the first varsity that launched BE.d (One and a half year duration program) for the applicants having 16 years of education.

In series along with the approved criteria of higher education commission and the direction of the vice chancellor of AIOU Professor Dr Shahid Siddiqui, the AIOU has also launched BE.d (two and half year duration porgramme) and BE.d (four years duration porgramme) in secondary as well as science education for the applicants with  14 years of education.

As per the Faculty of Education, Dean Dr Nasir Mahmood, the varsity wgyas also going to add online support for the teacher training programmes plus it have also developed syllabus and modern teaching policies for the recently launched programs.

According to reports, the faculty of education of Allama Iqbal Open University is one of the largest in the country in terms of the number of programmes offered as well as registered number of students. Away form this; it is also the only educational institute that provides non-formal teaching certificate for the non-formal educational zone.

As per further details, the syllabus as well as the teaching pattern was being simplified to enhance the quality of the academic programmes at every academic level. 60% of this work had already been done.

“We are trying to make sure that our capable teachers should be competitive as well as familiar along with the modern abilities of teaching,” the education dean said, adding that the vice chancellor of the university took a number of steps during the last 2 ½ years to bring about qualitative enhancement in the complete academic network.
