National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) is a public research university situated in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. NUMS is one of the flagship medical institutes in the country. The bluish green color of the emblem signifies Gumbad e Khizra; the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and also to the dominant color of Pakistani flag. It also indicates the importance of peace, tranquility, freedom, harmony, spirituality, serenity, happiness and nature’s healing power.

This Federal Public Sector University was on 31st October 2015 under the Act of Parliament (XVII) of 2015. The President of Pakistan is the Chancellor of the University and the Chief of the Army Staff is the Pro-Chancellor. The university services of teaching and training dates back to pre-partition era. Previously Army Medical College, Rawalpindi, Punjab was affiliated with NUST but now it is affiliated with NUMS. Besides the outstanding academic activities, the university also offers a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities for its students. The enormous infrastructure of the university also provides many facilities to its students like hostel, library, career development opportunities etc. To contribute to a wholesome development with all skills and arts like literature, fine arts, history, music and so on, a monthly evening of many shades called “Haft Rang” (Persian-means Seven Shades like rainbow) was held at NUMS. Speakers and presenters would be invited to develop an intellectual and healthy entertainment.
