The National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE), Faisalabad, has degree programs with the fee structure that is easily affordable by the students doing postgraduate degree programs in biotechnology and related fields. Fees are mainly in terms of semester and while the structure for undergraduate fee is not very elaborated, the structure for postgraduate courses are elaborated with guidelines. As a result, NIBGE fee structure has been designed in such a manner to ensure that it make its programs easily accessible while at the same time striving to provide quality education in such specialized fields as bio-technology and bio-logical sciences.
Fees of Programs
For the 2025 academic year, the cost structure of the M.Phil. in Biotechnology of NIBGE is estimated at 75,200 PKR per semester. This is a fee charged to students joining the full-time, two-year M.Phil. program. For those who want to pursue the PhD program, then one has to pay tuition fee of around PKR 61400 per semester. These fees apply to regular students only, and sometimes are slightly different depending on other circumstances, such as the cost of materials for a research project or laboratory charges. NIBGE also imparts educational programmes at various academic level in biological sciences and biotechnology, making it a premier and a research intensive institution in these disciplines​.
Scholarships and Financial Asistance
NIBGE also provides its affordable fee structures while at the same time highlighting different chances for obtaining a financial help. Scholarships that are usually in form of merit are also offered to some students while information on the specific scholarships offered is sometimes hard to come by. State funds or other grants are allowed to be sought by students. Since this is a public funded Institute, there may be other sources of funding that may be available to this Institute and adequate information in regard to the available scholarships and other forms of funding can be got from the admissions office.
