As the NCA is a government institute, it has to follow the admission policies directed by the Government. Hence seat allocation is observed in the following way:
50% seats are allocated for residents of Punjab and 20 % for the Sindh residents. 10 % and 7 % are reserved for KPK and Baluchistan respectively. The remaining seats are divided among the students from Gilgit, Baltistan and Jammu and Azad Kashmir.
There is a separate quota for foreign or international students and disabled students.
The candidates can also gain admission to the university on basis of self-finance or full-fee payment Policy.
Equal opportunities of admission are granted to male and female candidates. There is no gender, region or religious discrimination.
Students with a third division marks (less than 45%) in Higher Secondary Education are ineligible to apply for any degree programs offered by the NCA.
Admission or Entrance tests are conducted by the NCA in all major cities of each province. There is a high merit for admission to the faculty of fine arts and the faculty of design. The entrance test consists of two parts: test 1 evaluates drawing skills and while test 2 is an aptitude test. The candidate who wish to apply in the department of Architecture need to pass a Mathematics test in addition the previously mentioned tests.
