The former President Ghulam Ishaq founded a private research university in Topi (1993) and named it: “Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology” also commonly known as GIKI. The campus is spread on a 400 acres and is situated in neighborhood of Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwan. The university is housed beside the great river Indus and amidst the beautiful mountains of Tarbela and Gadoon-Amazai.
The founding members of the university include top-notch academicians and scientists such as Dr.Abdul Qadir, Asghar Qadir, and Shaukat Hameed Khan who worked endlessly and seamlessly to transform the GIKI into the world’s finest higher education institute offering degrees in science and engineering.
GIKI delivers premium higher education in several disciplines however the specialties of GIKI are Science and Engineering. GIKI is authorized to award Under-graduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral Studied degrees.
