The University of Karachi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ministry of Youth affairs to promote the literacy rate in Karachi. Especially, in women sector, the University of Karachi has an aim to educate the females to increase the literacy rate.
Signing Bodies:
Mr. Faisal Sabzwari who is the Minster of Youth Affairs accompanied with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser and others have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between University of Karachi and Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of Sindh to support the youth affairs.
Constitution Support:
According to the Constitution of Pakistan more than 50% of women can participate in all areas of life from the whole population but unfortunately it is not happen because the education among the females of whole Pakistan is not enough to meet the constitution requirements.
Literacy Rate & Youth Affairs:
As the constitution provides the 50% women of the whole nation can participate in all the relative areas of the business or any field. But unfortunately only 36% women are literate as compared to 64% men. Now the main motive of Memorandum of understating is that to increase the literacy rate among the females. And provide them opportunities related to all spheres of life.
Influence on Youth Affairs:
The Memorandum of Understanding has direct influence on the youth activities, because after this agreement the Sindh province is preparing to provide such infrastructure and hostel facilities for the female education to increase the literacy rate. To accomplish this different seminars and workshops have been arranged to provide the awareness regarding youth affairs activities and the participation of females in different sectors.
Government Efforts:
The Government of Sindh is now visiting various female scholars as well as the female youth in hostels of Karachi University to complete the project of enhancing female literacy rate and youth affairs in various segments of life.
