General Eligibility Criteria

  • MBBS from any university recognized as per Schedule I & II of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC)
  • For FCPS-II training: valid PM&DC registration with FCPS-I Pass Certificate/Letter of Congratulation
  • Valid PM&DC registration as a Medical Practitioner
  • One Year House Job in a PM&DC-recognized institute
  • M.Phil courses: valid PM&DC registration required
  • One Year House Job in a PM&DC-recognized institute
  • D.M.J. (MBBS): two years' teaching experience as a lecturer in a Department of Forensic Medicine at a recognized medical college/university, OR two years' W.M.O in an RHC/THQ/DHQ/Teaching Hospital/Casualty Department/Police Surgeon's Office, OR two years' Clinical Forensic experience after graduation
  • Fresh candidates can also apply, with priority given to in-service candidates
  • For MSPH: MBBS/BDS/BSPT/Bsc. Nursing with one-year Resident House Job in a PM&DC-recognized teaching institution, plus valid registration with PM&DC
  • For M.Phil Community Medicine: MBBS with one-year House Job in a PM&DC-recognized teaching institution, plus valid registration with PM&DC
  • DDFCP (Diabetic Foot Care Practitioner): MBBS, DPT, Pharm-D, BSN, or BSPH graduation

MSN Eligibility — Category I

  • Minimum 10 years schooling (Matric/FA/F.Sc.) + 3 years Diploma in Nursing + 1 year Diploma in Midwifery, OR Post-Basic specialty diploma registered with PNMC
  • 1 year experience as RN post RN-BSN/BSM Degree
  • 2 years Post-RN BSN/BSM program
  • 1 year experience as RN after Post-RN BSN (clinical, including inpatient and outpatient in primary and tertiary care, as well as teaching and research)

MSN Eligibility — Category II

  • 12 years schooling (Matric + FSc Pre-Medical)
  • 4 years Generic BSN Nursing Degree registered with PNC
  • 1 year post-registration (bedside care)
  • 1 year experience as RN after GBSN (clinical, including inpatient and outpatient in primary and tertiary care) — 1 year internship included

Ph.D. Program Requirements (Section 13.1)

  • Qualification: MS/MPhil or an equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized institution in the relevant field, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or 60%
  • General Admission Test: GRE/HAT or equivalent admission test conducted by PUMHSW, minimum passing score 60%
  • Subject-Specific Test: conducted by PUMHSW, minimum passing score 60%
  • Interview & Research Proposal Presentation: for candidates fulfilling the general admission test requirement (GRE/HAT), to be held 31st August 2026
  • Shortlisted candidates must appear before an Admission Committee interview and submit a research proposal related to their field of interest

  • Foreign graduates must produce an Equivalent Certificate of their Degree from PM&DC.
  • One candidate cannot apply for more than one Degree/Diploma course, though two different disciplines in the same category are allowed.
  • One candidate can apply for both a Degree and a Diploma course in the same session.
  • A separate application form is required for each course or training program.
  • In-service candidates must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer while applying for a postgraduate training/Diploma course.
  • No TA/DA will be paid to candidates.
  • PGMC/PUMHSW reserves the right to postpone any date, without any due or unforeseen circumstances.
  • The University reserves the right to change the rules and regulations for Postgraduate Studies from time to time.
  • Portal for Admissions: application form and required documents must be submitted online at pgadmissions.pumhsw.edu.pk, along with hard copies at the Office of the Director, Postgraduate Medical Center, PUMHSW Nawabshah SBA, before the scheduled Eligible List date mentioned above — otherwise the admission application form will not be entertained.
