Dr. Shoaib Farooq Wins PUAN Policy Challenge 2026

Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Farooq, Professor at School of AI(SAI), has won FIRST PLACE at the PUAN Economic Policy Challenge 2026 — receiving a shield from the U.S. Consulate in recognition of this outstanding achievement.

The PUAN Economic Policy Challenge is Pakistan's first-ever case-based national economic policy competition, held September 8–9, 2026 at Marriott Islamabad. Jointly supported by the U.S. Mission to Pakistan and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), the Challenge brought together 70 of Pakistan's most accomplished— economists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and technology leaders. Dr Shoaib participated in the AI theme and got the overall first prize across all the 14 themes.
