Kashmir Day

To show solidarity with Kashmiri people and to acknowledge the struggle of people of Kashmir against the state terrorism of India in Kashmir, the Kashmir solidarity day is celebrated on 5th Feb, every year in befitting manner. It is a day of remembrance of raising our voice against the massacre ranging in Kashmir for 64 years. We should feel much pain and rightly, so when we visualize the image of Kashmir.

Kashmir more properly known as "A Heaven on Earth" has been any thing but heaven for so many years. It has turned into a blood-shed abode.

The question which arises is that are our own petty interest more important than the killing of so many lives? Does India and Pakistan just want to acquire this "heaven" regardless of the fact the Kashmir's lives have been living hell? Why we cannot let Kashmir become an independent state.Do you think that Kashmir should be part of Pakistan or India?

The Indian argument is that Kashmir should be part of India because Maharaja Hari Singh acceded to India. But Kashmir had a Muslim majority then, and still does, so therefore it should be part of Pakistan.

Also, in 1947, princely state that is in modern day Gujarat, had a Muslim ruler who wanted to accede to Pakistan. But his state had a 80% Hindu majority. What was done was that there was plebiscite held and Gujrat was given to India (and fairly so).

So if Gujrat was given to India if it had a Hindu majority, why is it that Kashmir is not given to Pakistan when it has a Muslim majority?

Kashmir is not some thing we own. Its time both for Pakistan and India realize about this. Its time that India withdraw its army form Kashmir and its time we conduct a fire a square Referendum in Kashmir. Only Kashmiris should have the right to decide if they want to side up with either Pakistan or India or be independent. We cannot resolve without the involvement and wishes of the people of Kashmir.

Now I want to give a message to my Kashmiri brothers and sisters, Kashmir resides in the heart of every Pakistani, Pakistan would always fulfill its duty of providing moral, political and diplomatic support to cause of Kashmir, Pakistan will always support the Kashmir’s struggle for liberation.
