To reform school education, the Punjab government has created the Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) by merging three departments: the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), the Quaid-i-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), and the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC). Going forward, textbooks in Punjab will be issued under the PECTAA name instead of PCTB.
