Karachi, The UK Deputy High Commission, Karachi, and the UK Trade and Investment-Pakistan introduced the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) at a reception hosted by UK Deputy High Commissioner Francis Campbell on the Deputy High Commission premises on Monday.

LSBF is offering a new program that will train students while at the same time it will be helpful to strengthen the relationships of two countries.

The LSBF introduced their 360 degrees programs, a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses with an exclusive career-based approach in Pakistan.

Naeem Afzal, regional development manager, based in Lahore, said that the 360 degrees program comprised four parts, namely, a degree, a professional qualification, career counseling, and a job offer guarantee.

The school, he said, was based in London and had students from 118 countries. Admission criteria, he said, would be the candidates’ performance in their home countries, and a statement from the candidate regarding his goals, which would be scrutinised by the LSBF. Besides its own degrees, it would award degrees in arrangement with the London Metropolitan University, Afzal said, adding that the programs would cater to the present global needs and trends.

A reception was organised on Monday at the elegantly decorated Acton House in Clifton. British Deputy High Commissioner Francis Campbell welcomed the presence of LSBF in Pakistan, hoping that it would be one way in which greater ties can be established between Pakistan and the UK.

Campbell said that this good news is the need of time when Karachi and Pakistan are in the headlines for the wrong things. For this reason, it was important to celebrate the arrival of education. Around 28 Pakistani students will be going to the business school in February to embark on the new program it will offer.

Campbell, who is also the director for UK Trade and Investment, said that the institution in London, which opened its doors back in 2004 offers short courses, as well. The new 360 program will have undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a focus on training people for different careers in Pakistan.

The introduction of such UK qualifications in Pakistan, he said, would not only contribute to making Pakistan’s outlook for the future more optimistic but would also go a long way in further strengthening the already cordial ties between the UK and Pakistan. The LSBF Country Head for Pakistan, Faisal Azeem, said that with a network of over 25,000 students, the school offered industry-focused programs designed to reflect global market trends. The school, he said, attracted the most talented and ambitious candidates from over 150 countries.
