Lahore: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) and National Ambulance Services College (NASC), Dublin, Ireland, have agreed to name the first National Ambulance Services College of Pakistan after Abdul Sattar Edhi.
As per the press release issued on Thursday, the college is presently performing its duties under UHS Institute of Learning Emergency Medicine (ILEM). The college will now be known as Edhi National Ambulance Services College, Pakistan.

Moreover the press release said that it has also been decided to introduce a gold medal in the name of late Abdul Sattar Edhi which will be granted to the best student of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course every year. The college will also provide free training to the faculty of Edhi Ambulance Service.
Director of University College Dublin, Ireland, Prof Dr Gerard Bury, Macartan Hughes from National Ambulance Service College, Dublin Ireland, Dr Shane Knox of Pre-hospital Emergency Care Council, Ireland, Managing Director Disaster Relief by Irish and Pakistanis (DRIP), Ireland, Dr Khurram Shahzad, and Project Manager of DRIP, Ireland, Dr Farooq Butt, have expressed their sympathy over the death of legendary philanthropist and humanitarian, Abdul Sattar Edhi.
