State Bank to honour Edhi with special coin issuance on coming Saturday

Karachi: In an effort to pay tribute to late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced to issue a special coin on Saturday.

While talking to media, the representative of SBP Abid Qamar said:

“The value, shape as well as other details of the coin is being finalized and they will be announced on Saturday at a special condolence reference for Edhi.”

Abdul Sattar Edhi had passed away on Friday late night at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Karachi. Edhi was suffering from renal failure since 2013.

After that on Saturday, he was laid to rest at Edhi Village, following a state funeral attended by President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, the three military services chiefs, two chief ministers, Sindh governor as well as thousands of others including political and rights activists.
