Rules For Employments In Malaysia 

  • Students have to submit an application to the state Immigration office and a supporting letter from your education provider (educational institute) is required in which your institute allowing you to take up employment and also stating the semester holidays. The institution (Public/Private) will have to provide the list of student names that are working and student's performance report to Immigration Department every 3 months.

  • Permission to work will be approved in student's passport.

  • Student is permitted to work on a temporary basis only with 20 hours working period per week.

  • Employment as cashier is not allowed.

  • Permission to work will be renewed/ extended if good/high academic performance of the student is maintained.
