Dalarna University is proud to offer partial tuition fee scholarships to support outstanding global students who wish to study in Sweden.Dalarna University is offering partial tuition fee waivers for new students to study master’s programs.

Scholarships

Every year, Dalarna University awards partial scholarships to a number of its new international, fee-paying Master's students who have proven themselves to be outstanding in their educational endeavours.

Amount of Scholarship

Our scholarships go directly towards a reduction in your tuition fees and will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees. The amount that you are awarded is automatically deducted in set amounts each semester over the duration of your programme.

LiU International Scholarship

The LiU International Scholarship is aimed at supporting international master's degree students with significant academic potential who are required to pay tuition fees. The tuition fees for a student awarded a LiU International Scholarship are reduced by 25, 50, or 75%. We offer a limited number of these scholarships to new students.

Both scholarships are granted on an academic excellence basis, and priority will be given to top academic students who have applied and chosen one of the full-time degree programs as their first choice at LTU.

Students from EU/EEA and Switzerland (non-Swedish citizens):

Can apply for a scholarship that covers living expenses.

Students from non-EU/EEA and Switzerland:

Can apply for a scholarship that covers the tuition fee at LTU for the whole length of the program, provided that the study results are satisfactory. The scholarship does not cover living expenses.

For bachelor study:

Applicants must have completed upper secondary education and have documented skills in the English language.

For master study:

The government agency the Swedish Institute (SI) offers a variety of scholarships depending on the level of study, the country where you come from, and the purpose of your studies. The application period for the SI scholarships varies.

The research group

The PhD student will be working in an interdisciplinary environment, in strong collaboration between clinical departments, experts within basic science and other national and international research groups.

Our approach is to use several strategies to re-create functional tissues by combining cells/tissue with different biomaterials and to evaluate wound healing responses. Eventually, wound healing and tissue reconstruction could be enhanced by actions of microRNAs in diseased tissues, such as malformations, inflammation, and scarring, that are in need for surgical reconstruction.

There are several congenital conditions affecting the formation of vaginal canal.  Tissue engineering may provide a way to improve surgical corrections and improve the wellbeing and reproductive capabilities of the affect population.

 We have identified a knowledge gap on the biological mechanisms that determine a normal healing of the human vagina.

Project description and tasks

The projects aims at developing treatment and monitoring of cancer therapies with focus on imaging based methods, primarily magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography, but can also include CT and CBCT and other imaging modalities.

Admission requirements
