Todai Fellowships provide financial assistance to international students enrolled in PhD programmes at The University of Tokyo. This fellowship must be applied for at the same time as the application for the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS).
Applicants will be notified of the GSFS screening result for the fellowship concurrently with the result of the admission examination. Nominees chosen by GSFS will be subjected to a final screening by the Division of Global Campus Initiatives before being awarded the fellowship. The complete and formal screening results will be communicated within one month of enrolment. Please keep in mind that if you are nominated by GSFS for the Division of Global Campus Initiatives, you have a good chance of receiving the fellowship.
