Statement of purpose  

(SoP) The Statement of Purpose is an important part of your application. In it, please share with us anything that prepares you for graduate-level research. For instance, you can describe your past research projects, motivation, skills, and background relevant to the research areas and groups you selected on the application form.

Reference letters:

 provided by professors and senior scientists: one letter from industry is acceptable, but letters from an academic background are given priority; referees are asked to address analytical capabilities, technical proficiency, ability to work independently and motivation/commitment;

The applicant’s past research experience and motivation for applying to this particular PhD program: is it a good academic fit? how does the program contribute to the candidate’s future career plans?, etc.;

Additional relevant skills 

(field-specific): demonstrated in, e.g., internships and/or participation in research projects, participation in science Olympiads, programming languages, lab techniques, etc.

Applicants must have a grade point average no lower than 2.0 for the examinations, courses and written pieces of work they submit for the performance scholarship.

The grade point average is calculated based on the individual grades. Overall grades are not used to calculate the grade point average.

Applicants must fulfil all general conditions to apply for a performance scholarship.

Faculty of Architecture:

Bachelor: Confirmation of at least 50 ECTS-Credits in the year prior to the application.
The grade point average must be not greater than 1.25.

Master: Confirmation of at least 50 ECTS-Credits in the year prior to the application.
The grade point average must be not greater than 1.35.

Confirmation of at least 52,5 ECTS-Credits.
The grade point average must be not greater than 1.35.

Master: Confirmation of at least 50 ECTS-Credits in the academic year prior to the application.
The grade point average must be not greater than 1.35.

PhD: Confirmation of at least 18 ECTS-Credits in the academic year prior to the application.
The grade point average must be not greater than 1.20.
The dissertation is not included in the required 18 ECTS.
