World Academy of Sciences

The principal aim of the World Academy of Sciences is to promote scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development in developing countries and supports sustainable prosperity through research, education, policy, and diplomacy.

Eligible Countries: 

International students can apply.

Eligible Course or Subjects: 

Master and PhD level study programs in the field of Agricultural Sciences, Structural, Cell, and Molecular Biology, Biological

Criteria: 

The applicants must be nationals of developing countries. 

The applicants must not hold Chinese citizenship. 

The applicants must be under 40 and 45 years of age for master’s and doctoral study, respectively.

World Academy of Sciences

The applicants must not hold Chinese citizenship and must have enrolled in the Chinese Academy of Sciences or The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) to be considered. The scholarship award covers expenses from tuition fees to visa. A monthly stipend is also provided. 

ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship

According to an agreement between the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO) for the advancement of science in developing countries, up to 40 students/scholars from developing countries will be sponsored to study in China for doctoral degrees for up to 4 years

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PHD SCHOLARSHIP:

Eligible applicants should be proficient in English or Chinese;

For PhD program applicants: you should be born after 1st January 1988­­ (inclusive);

Eligible applicants should meet the admission criteria for international students of USTC/UCAS;

Eligible applicants should NOT take up other assignments during the period of his/her scholarship.
