ADMISSIONS

  1. Admission Process:

The admission process begins after the bachelor’s degree. Every university has several criteria for its admission process. With the help of the prospectus, students can submit their documents to the particular university they are interested in. The universities publish their merit list according to the seats available in the department. Some universities conduct their entry-level test and enroll accordingly. There are various merit lists according to the seats in that particular university.

  1. Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for MS Finance is a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business with a minimum of 2.5 CGPA in their respective field of study or 55% marks in the annual system.

  1. Admission Intake

The admission intake is either yearly or semester-based depending on the university you are looking forward to. The semester system works as the admission twice a year either in the fall or spring intake. 

  1. Entry Test:

Some of the universities consider the GAT (Graduate Assessment Test) for admission, a single test eligible for all the GAT-associated universities. Some of the universities included are; (the University of Swat, University of Management and Technology Lahore, University of Gujrat, and more) while other universities have their general and field-related tests. The minimum passing criteria of these tests is also 50% to sit for the particular graduate program.

To ensure practical training in financing careers, Lahore University of Management and Sciences is offering a 1.5-year program of MS Finance under their leading department of (SDSB) Suleman Dawood School of Business. The core knowledge ensures students with the fundamental tools and techniques to deal with financial issues. The course is designed to grant credible knowledge of the modern foundation of finance. 

The degree further helps the graduates to pursue their careers at national and international financing companies. At several private firms, in corporate finance, commercial banks, various research-based firms, Entrepreneurship, continuing doctoral degree, and more. 

The eligibility to achieve admission in MS Accounting and Finance at SDSB is solely merit-based. The requirements include the previous academic records of 16 years of education in business or commerce from an HEC recognized institute. The admission requires any of the graduate assessment tests; GAT, GRE, or GMAT. Further, the application is then subjected to interview if a candidate is successful.

Riphah University offers a post-graduate degree in Masters of Science in Accounting and Finance. The degree in MS Finance helps enable students to build their knowledge and seek analytical skills to implement them in the future at financing departments at different firms.  

The eligibility criteria for admission in MS Finance at Riphah University is 16 years of education with a minimum of 50% or 2 CGPA. The selection criteria are based on merit with the percentage of academic qualification for 30% and an interview/ test of 70%.  

  • University of Management and Technology:

The University of Management Technology is one of the leading private universities of Lahore providing graduate and post-graduate degrees in a wide variety of disciplines. The 2 years MS program in Finance is being offered at UMT with theoretical and research work. It is offering compulsory and elective courses with a thesis. The aim of MS Finance is to provide students the deep insights into banking and financing. To enable the students to achieve public or private sector job opportunities. To understand the financing terms and techniques and be able to interpret the issues faced at a firm and to solve them with perspective to increase the value of the firm. 

To enroll in the MS Finance at UMT, a student should have a background study of 16 years with a relevant degree from an HEC known institute. The candidate must the entry-level test of the university or have a general GAT with a 50% minimum score. 

The students after acquiring MS Finance at the University of Management and Technology are further capable to practice their skills at multi-national organizations, banks; (Islamic, commercial), insurance firms, State Bank of Pakistan, the research department at different universities. 

  • Bahria University, Islamabad

Bahria University, Islamabad Campus is offering a research-based MS Finance degree of 1.5 years. The first year is solely based on theory work and then the research work is continued. A variety of electives are being offered for students to select the subjects they are interested in as their major subjects.

The candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 45% marks or a 2 CGPA are eligible to apply for MS Finance at Virtual University.
