MED Guide Highlights

Master of Education Admission Process:

The admission process begins after the candidates complete their bachelor’s degree. Every university has several criteria for its admission process. With the help of the prospectus, students can submit their documents to the certain university they are interested in. The universities publish their merit list according to the seat in a certain department. Some universities conduct their entry-level test and enroll accordingly. 

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for a master of Education is a bachelor’s degree in the education field with a minimum of 50% marks or 2^nd division. Some universities consider their entry test as well.

Admission Intake

The admission Intake depends upon the particular universities. It can either be yearly or semester-based admissions. The university with semester-based grant admissions twice a year; September (fall session) and February (spring sessions).

Entry Test:

Every university has certain criteria for its admissions, and the entry test is one of them. The entry test varies according to the degree programs. Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is considered for admission in master’s degree. It is a single test that fulfills the requirement of all the GAT-associated universities. Some universities accept the GAT test while others still conduct their test. Some GAT-associated universities are; (Kinnaird College for Women, University of Management and Technology Lahore, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, the University of Swat, University of Gujrat, and more). The minimum passing criteria of these tests is also 50% to sit for the particular graduate program.

ALLAMA IQBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY:

For the professional training and learn a variety of skills for teaching and scholars. Allama Iqbal Open University offers Masters of Education in teaching education. This degree will help students to get more knowledge to gain professional experiences as a teacher.

The eligibility criteria for the admission of M.Ed. is to have a bachelor’s degree in education with a minimum 2^nd division.  

VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY OF PAKISTAN:

The Virtual University of Pakistan offers numerous courses among which M.Ed. is one. The main objective of this program is to deliver extensive knowledge of the education department. To enable the students to have a variety of skills, and enable them to acquire leadership roles in various education sectors. To empower and upgrade their learning abilities to pursue advanced degrees in education.

The candidate who has a B.Ed. degree with a minimum of 45% marks or a 2 CGPA is eligible to apply for a Master’s degree in Education at Virtual University. 

UNIVERSITY OF SINDH:

The University of Sindh offers a Master of Education under the faculty of Education. It has trained a large group of teachers for the education sector around Pakistan. The students who have completed their bachelor’s degree in education are eligible to continue Master of Education at the University of Singh. 

BENAZIR BHUTTO SHAHEED UNIVERSITY:

To empower the education sector, various degree programs are offered in education. Master of Education, is a rapidly growing degree. With its development and enhancement of leadership and management skills, it results in the innovation of teaching staff. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in education are eligible to enroll in the Master of Education at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University. 

THE ISLAMIA UNIVERSITY OF BAHAWALPUR, PAKISTAN:

The eligibility criteria for admission to Master of Education at Islamia University is a bachelor’s degree in education (B.Ed.). The percentage of the total past academic records will determine the results of admission.

Students will be able to learn different techniques to enhance education. They will further be able to work as a teacher, teacher assistant, school head, school admin, etc.

THE AGHA KHAN UNIVERSITY:

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a well-defined degree that enables the students to transform their careers in teaching and management practices at various education sectors. Students who have done their bachelor’s degree in education with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply for Masters of Education. While the students who have degrees other than education are required to fulfill the criteria by doing a 1.5-year B.Ed. degree.

Master of Education, was introduced to ensure competent teaching staff and skilled management in the education sector. The eligibility criteria for M.Ed. is a minimum of 50% marks in a bachelor’s degree from an HEC recognized university. The candidate has to further appear for the university test. Upon selection, the candidate will be called for an interview. 

GREENWICH UNIVERSITY, KARACHI:

Greenwich University is a Karachi based HEC recognized university. It offers various graduate, post-graduate, and doctorate programs. Master of Education is also being offered at Greenwich University. The degree primarily focuses on the transformation and learning abilities of management, leadership, and teaching practices. 

The eligibility criteria to enroll in M.Ed. is the minimum 50% marks in the bachelor’s degree.
