MA Political Science Eligibility Criteria

The admission requirements for MA Political Science vary from university to university. However, the general eligibility criteria are as follows:

Academic Requirements

Minimum Marks: At least 45% marks in the B.A annual examination with Political Science as an elective subject.
OR

B.A with the following subjects is also acceptable:

  1. International Relations
  2. Social Work
  3. Journalism
  4. Sociology
  5. Gender Studies
  6. Economics
  7. Geography
  8. History
  9. Philosophy

Additional Marks (Weightage)

  1. Political Science as an elective subject: +20 marks
  2. Any of the other mentioned subjects: +10 marks
  3. Hafiz-e-Quran: +20 marks

Overall Selection Basis: 100% Academic Record (some universities also add an admission test).

Admission Test (University Dependent)

Some universities conduct an entrance test covering Basic English and General Knowledge.

Others rely only on academic performance.

Admission Schedule

Regular Students: Sessions usually start between September – October.

Private Students: Admissions typically open from December – March (applications can be submitted by hand or post).

Foreign Applicants

Must provide a NOC / Equivalence Certificate from the HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan).

Age Limit

Some universities and colleges may apply age restrictions.

Required Documents for Admission

Applicants must attach attested copies of the following documents with their admission form:

  1. Result cards of Matriculation, Intermediate, and Graduation.
  2. Passport-size photographs.
  3. CNIC (applicant & father’s CNIC).
  4. Mother’s CNIC.
  5. Migration Certificate (if not registered with the concerned institution).
  6. Copy of bank challan form (admission processing fee).
  7. Current and permanent address details.
  8. University registration card.
  9. Student card (if previously enrolled).
