Career Opportunity: Vice Principal

NUST School of Health Sciences (NSHS)

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) invites applications from highly qualified, experienced, and visionary medical educators for the prestigious position of Vice Principal at the NUST School of Health Sciences (NSHS).

This leadership role is designed for individuals committed to academic excellence, institutional development, and advancement in healthcare education.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice Principal will:

  • Uphold and strengthen academic standards and rigor
  • Lead institutional growth and innovation
  • Promote excellence in medical education and healthcare practices
  • Ensure compliance with national regulatory frameworks

CORE ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Academic Standing

  • Must fulfill the criteria set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) for the rank of Professor
  • Must possess Level-III qualification

2. Additional Qualification (Preferred)

  • Qualification in Medical Education will be considered an added advantage

3. Leadership Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in:
    • Academic leadership
    • Teaching
    • Research
  • Experience must be in a senior role within a reputable academic or healthcare institution

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

1. Operational Expertise

  • Proven ability to manage an Examination Cell
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

2. Regulatory Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) regulations
    • Higher Education Commission (HEC) policies
    • College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) standards
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies

3. Strategic & Leadership Skills

  • Expertise in:
    • Strategic planning
    • Stakeholder management
    • Institutional development
  • Ability to maintain academic excellence through regulatory compliance
