Directorate General of Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education

The Directorate General of Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education invites online applications from eligible candidates for registration as Potential Teachers under Phase-II of the "Establishment of Adult Literacy Centers in Punjab" project (Read, Write, Thrive – ???? ???? ???? ??? initiatives) in 36 districts of Punjab. Below are the eligibility criteria and details for the registration process:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: 18 to 55 years

  • Gender: Male, Female, Transgender

  • Qualification:

    • Minimum Matriculation (at least 50% marks)

    • FA/Graduate with preference for those with a background in Computer Science.

  • Domicile: Punjab

  • CNIC: Must possess a valid CNIC.

Remuneration

The selected teachers will be paid in accordance with the approved PC-I (Project Costing).

How to Apply

  1. Visit the Department’s Website: Candidates must visit the official website of the Directorate General of Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education at https://literacy.punjab.gov.pk for registration.

  2. Video Tutorial: A video tutorial is available on the website to guide applicants through the registration process.

  3. Teacher Categories: Teachers will be selected for different categories of Adult Literacy Centers (ALCs) such as:

    • General

    • Health

    • Agriculture

    • Livestock

    • Prison

    • Mines & Minerals

Terms & Conditions

  1. Appointment Type:
    Teachers will be appointed on a part-time, time-bound, honorary, or contract basis for a duration of 6 months (not extendable).
    Appointments will be made within the District, Tehsil, or Union Council where the candidate permanently resides.

  2. Responsibilities:

    • The selected teacher will be responsible for arranging a suitable room for the Adult Literacy Center (ALC) in coordination with the concerned Literacy Mobilizer.

  3. Application Deadline:
    Applications must be submitted online by 18th October 2025 (Saturday). Late applications will not be entertained.

  4. No Physical Applications:
    Applications submitted by hand or via courier/postal service will not be accepted.

  5. Learner Registration:
    After selection, teachers must register a group of 25-30 illiterate learners (aged 16 and above) on the NFEMIS portal in coordination with the concerned Literacy Mobilizer.

  1. Noble Cause:
    Imparting literacy to illiterate individuals is a noble cause. Therefore, self-motivated fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this meaningful initiative.
