Applications are invited from suitable and qualified candidates for appointment to the following contractual positions at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT), Karachi.

1 Consultant Neurosurgery FCPS in Neurosurgery with a minimum of 3 years’ post-FCPS experience. Must hold valid PMDC registration. 45 years Sindh
2 Jr. Consultant Neurosurgery FCPS in Neurosurgery with 1 year post-FCPS experience. Must hold valid PMDC registration. 45 years Sindh
3 Resident Medical Officer (Neurosurgery) MBBS with completed house job and training of FCPS in Neurosurgery. Must hold valid PMDC registration. 45 years Sindh
4 Senior Medical Officer (Neurosurgery) MBBS with house job and 3 years’ experience in General Surgery. Preference to those with Neurosurgery experience. Must hold valid PMDC registration. 40 years Sindh
5 Fellow Neurosurgery FCPS in Neurosurgery. Must hold valid PMDC registration. 45 years Sindh
6 Fellow Plastic Surgery FCPS in Plastic Surgery. Must hold valid PMC/PMDC registration. 45 years Sindh
7 Medical Officer (Vascular Surgery) MBBS with house job and 1 year experience in General Surgery (preferably with Vascular Surgery experience), or MBBS with 3 months’ Vascular Surgery house job. Valid PMDC req. 35 years Sindh
8 Staff Nurse Registered Nurse with Diploma in Nursing and valid PNC registration. Preference given to candidates with experience in reputable hospitals. 35 years Sindh
9 Staff Nurse (Infection Control) BSc in Nursing with valid PNC registration and minimum 2 years’ experience in Infection Control in a reputable hospital. 35 years Sindh
10 Staff Nurse (ICU) a) Registered Nurse with Post-RN Diploma in Intensive Care/Cardiology. OR    
b) Registered Nurse with 3 years’ experience in ICU/Critical Care. Must hold valid PNC registration. 40 years Sindh

  • These are contractual appointments for a period of two (02) years, renewable based on satisfactory performance.

  • Government employees are not eligible to apply.

  • Only post-qualification experience will be considered.

  • No TA/DA will be provided for the test/interview.

  • Selected candidates will be offered Trauma Pay Scale salaries.

  • Posts may be transferred to satellite centers of the Institute.

  • Appointment does not lead to regularization.

  • The decision of the competent authority is final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and must bring original documents.
