Reporting To: Secretary / Chief Operating Officer (COO), ICAP
ICAP is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as Senior Manager – Economist. This is a strategic role that involves providing deep insights into economic, fiscal, and trade-related matters, contributing to policy development, and representing ICAP’s voice in national and international forums.
Economic Research & Analysis:
Conduct and support in-depth research on macroeconomic trends, fiscal and taxation policies, international trade, and related areas with direct relevance to Pakistan and the region.
Publications & Reports:
Develop research papers, policy briefs, economic outlooks, and opinion articles to be published under the ICAP banner.
Data Management:
Build and manage databases and repositories of economic indicators, government budgets, taxation trends, and trade statistics.
Policy Advisory & Thought Leadership:
Provide expert advice to ICAP’s Council, management, and committees on economic developments. Participate in national and international knowledge-sharing and advocacy initiatives.
Representation:
Act as ICAP’s subject matter expert in media, seminars, conferences, and public forums.
Collaboration:
Work with government bodies, multilateral institutions, and think tanks to support joint research projects and policy recommendations.
Education (any one of the following):
Master’s or higher degree in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, Development Studies, or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution.
Chartered Accountant (ICAP Member).
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Professional Experience:
5–7 years of relevant experience in economic research, policy analysis, or advisory roles.
Preference will be given to those with experience in government departments, multilateral institutions, research bodies, or professional associations.
Additional Competencies:
Deep understanding of macroeconomic and fiscal policy issues.
Proven publication track record in policy papers, research articles, or op-eds.
Sound knowledge of Pakistan’s economic and taxation framework and awareness of international economic trends.
Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
