POSITIONS VACANT

Applications are invited from Pakistani nationals for appointment on a purely contract basis for one year (extendable until the completion of the project, based on performance) against temporary posts in the PSDP project titled "Gene Editing of Biological Agents for Nutritional, Biochemical, and Therapeutic Purposes" at PCSIR Labs Complex, Ferozepur Road, Lahore. The appointments will be made on a lump-sum pay basis. The details are as follows:

1. Research Officers (PPS-7)

Number of Posts: 01
Qualification and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, etc.
  • Relevant research experience preferred.
  • Experience with the CRISPR/Cas system and/or handling automated fermenters will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Research and Development in the assigned field.
  • Operate and maintain project-related activities.
  • Demonstrate good work ethics.

2. Research Associate (PPS-6)

Number of Posts: 01
Qualification and Experience:

  • MS in Biotechnology/Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.
  • Relevant research experience preferred.
  • Experience with the CRISPR/Cas system and/or handling automated fermenters will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned tasks in Research and Development.
  • Operate and maintain project-related activities.
  • Demonstrate good work ethics.

3. Admin Officer (PPS-7)

Number of Posts: 01
Qualification and Experience:

  • At least M.Sc./M.A. in Economics (16 years of education).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Office Administration, Accounts, or Human Resource Management in the Public Sector.
  • Experience in PSDP projects preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts, administration, and other project-related matters.
  • Demonstrate good work ethics.

4. Lab Technicians (PPS-5)

Number of Posts: 02
Qualification and Experience:

  • At least B.Sc. or equivalent (14 years of education).
  • 2-3 years of experience in R&D organizations or the public sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks related to lab/pilot plants and other project-related activities.
  • Demonstrate good work ethics.

5. Office Assistants (PPS-5)

Number of Posts: 06
Qualification and Experience:

  • At least B.A./B.Com or equivalent (14 years of education).
  • 2-3 years of experience in R&D organizations or the public sector, preferably in PSDP projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks related to office administration and other project-related activities.
  • Demonstrate good work ethics.

General Instructions:

  • The selection will be made purely on a merit basis.
  • Applications should include a CV and attested copies of CNIC, Domicile Certificate, Education Degrees/Certificates, and one recent passport-size photograph.
  • Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
  • Only short-listed candidates will be invited for the test/interview.
  • TA/DA will not be provided for the test/interview.
  • Government servants should apply through the proper channel.
  • The posts are PURELY on a contract basis for a stipulated period of time, with NO provision for regularization.
  • The selection committee reserves the right to withhold the appointment against the advertised post if no suitable candidate is available.
