VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP)

The Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP), a regulatory body established under the 1963 Ordinance for the regulation of the Architecture and Town Planning professions in Pakistan, is responsible for ensuring quality education, professional licensing, and the maintenance of high professional standards in both fields.

PCATP is an equal opportunity organization and invites applications from suitable, qualified, and experienced individuals for the following position. This is a contract-based appointment, extendable annually based on performance, with a market-based salary (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Management, Law, or Policy Making
    with
    Five years of Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or four years of Bachelor’s degree in City/Urban & Regional Planning, recognized and verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

  • Must be a registered PCATP member.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of management/administrative experience in Government, Semi-Government, or Private Sector organizations.

  • Applicants with higher qualifications and foreign or local training in recognized management courses will be given preference.

  • Experience in legal processes and procedures will be an added advantage.

Age Limit

  • Maximum 55 years on the closing date of application.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure entities under the authority’s jurisdiction comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Manage the registration and licensing of individuals, businesses, or institutions governed by the authority.

  • Issue, renew, suspend, or revoke licenses and registrations in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Oversee secure and accurate maintenance of all records related to registrations, licenses, and enforcement actions.

  • Ensure transparency and data integrity in all registry operations.

  • Assist in developing and implementing regulatory policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that internal operations align with the authority’s strategic and legal frameworks.

  • Act as a liaison between the regulatory authority and stakeholders, including regulated entities, the public, and government bodies.

  • Coordinate and document enforcement actions against individuals or organizations violating regulations.

  • Prepare reports for internal use and for submission to government or oversight bodies.

  • Document all decisions and processes to maintain accountability and audit readiness.

  • Manage budgets, procurement, and other resources relevant to the Registrar’s functions.
