SITUATION VACANT

The National Institute of Intelligence and Security Studies (NIISS) at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad invites applications from Pakistani Nationals for the following faculty positions:

1. Associate Professor

  • Scale: BPS-20

  • Number of Positions: 01

  • Minimum Qualification:
    Ph.D. in one of the following disciplines from an HEC-recognized national or international university:

    • Intelligence & Security Studies

    • Security Studies

    • International Politics & Security Studies

    • Strategic Studies / International Relations (IR)

    • Peace and Conflict Studies

  • Experience (any one of the following):

    • 10 years of teaching/research experience in an HEC-recognized university, postgraduate institution, or relevant national/international organization.

    • OR 5 years of post-PhD teaching/research experience in an HEC-recognized institution or relevant professional experience in a national/international organization.

  • Research Publications:

    • At least 10 research publications in HEC-recognized journals, with a minimum of 4 published within the last 5 years.

2. Assistant Professor

  • Scale: BPS-19

  • Number of Positions: 02

  • Minimum Qualification:
    Ph.D. in one of the following fields from an HEC-recognized national or international university:

    • Intelligence & Security Studies

    • Security Studies

    • International Politics & Security Studies

    • Strategic Studies / International Relations (IR)

    • Peace and Conflict Studies

General Terms and Conditions

  1. Government Employees: Applicants currently employed in Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous bodies or Corporations must apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.

  2. Application Submission:

    • Applicants for Associate Professor and Assistant Professor must submit five (05) hard copies of their application dossiers (properly bound) and a soft copy in PDF format.

      • Academic degrees/certificates

      • Experience certificates

      • CNIC

      • Domicile

      • Two recent passport-size photographs

      • Application fee of Rs. 2,000/- per position (via Pay Order, Bank Draft, or paid Challan – HBL, QAU Branch Account No. 0002940002588203, in favor of Acting Director, NIISS, QAU).

      • Applicants from abroad may send USD 100 as application fee.

  3. Application Deadline: All applications must reach the office of the Acting Director, NIISS, QAU within 45 days of the advertisement’s publication date.

  4. Incomplete Applications: Applications lacking any required documents or information will not be considered at the interview stage.

  7. Salary Package: The Selection Board reserves the right to offer an enhanced salary package beyond the basic pay scale.

  11. Screening Process for Assistant Professor: Eligible candidates will be required to participate in a lecture/seminar screening process. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for a final interview with the Selection Board.

  12. TA/DA: No Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance will be provided for attending lectures, seminars, or interviews.
