JOB OPPORTUNITY

Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
TESCO, a public sector utility under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), invites applications from highly qualified, experienced, and result-oriented professionals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ideal candidate will demonstrate dynamic leadership, corporate acumen, and an impeccable record of integrity and performance.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum 16 years of education in one of the following disciplines:

    • Engineering

    • Business Administration

    • Public Administration

    • Management Sciences

    • Finance

    • Commerce

    • Economics

    • OR

    • Membership in a recognized body of professional accountants

2. Experience Requirements:
The candidate must:

  • Have at least 20 years of verifiable professional experience, including:

    • A minimum of three (3) years in a senior management role defined as:

      • Public Sector: BPS-20 (or equivalent), whether on substantive, additional charge, acting charge, current charge, look-after basis, or through an upgraded post.

      • Private Sector: C-level experience (e.g., CEO, CFO, COO).

3. Skill and Competency Profile:

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Thorough understanding of power distribution business, regulatory frameworks, and operational challenges

  • Proven ability to deliver consistent growth and customer value

  • Knowledge of international best practices in governance, change management, corporate restructuring, and strategic planning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

4. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Must fulfill the "Fit and Proper Criteria" as per Section 16 and Schedule IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023

  • Should comply with the State-Owned (Ownership & Management) Policy, 2023

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior senior-level experience in a power distribution company

5. Age Limit:

  • Maximum age: 62 years as of the closing date (May 20, 2025)

Pay Package

  • A competitive, market-based remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Tenure and Nature of Employment

  • The appointment will be on a contract basis for an initial period of three (3) years, extendable based on performance.

  4. Verified experience certificates

  5. Two work references and two personal references

  6. Copies of degrees/testimonials, verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or relevant professional body

  7. Declaration on non-judicial stamp paper, attested by an Oath Commissioner, affirming:

    • The applicant is eligible under the Fit and Proper Criteria

    • No conflicts of interest that may impair independent judgment or harm the interests of the company

Important Guidelines:

  • Applicants from Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous bodies must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

  • Selected candidate must resign from current post and submit a relieving letter before joining TESCO.
