The Ministry of Commerce invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals to join its Research Team aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s trade, economy, and legal framework. The positions are contractual and performance-based.

Available Positions

1. Trade Expert (Category-II)

  • No. of Posts: 01

  • Qualification:

    • Master’s (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development, or relevant social sciences.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

    • Proven record of research publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals, books, or conferences.

  • Required Skills:

    • Advanced data handling skills (Excel, Stata, Python/R).

    • Strong analytical and writing abilities.

    • Familiarity with international trade datasets and firm/product-level data.

  • Desirable Skills:

    • Econometric modeling, impact evaluation, predictive analytics.

    • Ability to present research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (as of the advertisement date).

2. Research Associate (Category-III)

  • No. of Posts: 03

  • Qualification:

    • Master’s (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development, or relevant social sciences.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

    • At least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal, book, or conference.

  • Required Skills:

    • Proficient in Advanced Excel.

    • Strong data handling, writing, and analytical skills.

    • Experience with cleaning and managing micro-datasets.

  • Desirable Skills:

    • Familiarity with Power BI, Stata, or Python/R.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (as of the advertisement date).

3. Legal Advisor (Category-II)

  • No. of Posts: 01

  • Qualification:

    • LLB from HEC recognized institution (LLM is an added advantage).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years professional experience as a legal advisor.

    • Prior experience in handling service matters of government/corporate employees.

  • Required Skills:

    • Expertise in HR and service-related legal issues, including labor law and employee policies.

  • Desirable Skills:

    • Familiarity with Civil Servants Act 1973, government service rules/policies, international labor law, and global HR compliance.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (as of the advertisement date).
