The Ministry of Commerce invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals to join its research team. This initiative aims to enhance Pakistan’s trade and economic performance and assist in management-related legal matters through evidence-based policy development and research.

Available Positions

1. Trade Expert (Category-II)

Number of Posts: 01
Qualification:
- Master’s degree or equivalent (16 years of education) in:
  - Economics
  - Public Policy
  - International Trade
  - International Development
  - Relevant Social Sciences disciplines
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Track record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals, books, or conferences
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in handling data using Advanced Excel, Stata, Python/R, etc.
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Experience using international trade-related data sources and firm/product-level datasets
Desirable Skills:
- Econometric modeling
- Impact evaluation methods
- Predictive analytics
- Experience in writing and presenting data-driven reports
Maximum Age: 40 years (as of advertisement date)

2. Research Associate (Category-III)

Number of Posts: 03
Qualification:
- Master’s degree or equivalent (16 years of education) in:
  - Economics
  - Public Policy
  - International Trade
  - International Development
  - Relevant Social Sciences disciplines
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- At least 1 publication in a peer-reviewed journal/book/conference proceedings
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Experience in data cleaning and micro-dataset handling
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Power BI, Stata, or Python/R
Maximum Age: 35 years (as of advertisement date)

3. Legal Advisor (Category-II)

Number of Posts: 01
Qualification:
- LLB or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or international institution
- LLM is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional legal advisory experience
- Experience in service matters within government/corporations/companies
Required Skills:
- Handling legal issues related to HR, employment law, labor relations, employee benefits, and workplace policies
Desirable Skills:
- Expertise in:
  - Civil Servants Act 1973
  - Government service rules/policies
  - International labor laws
  - Cross-border HR regulations
  - Global compliance standards and human rights frameworks
