Litigation Officer 02 (Two) Hattar and Peshawar

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent shall act as a focal person for litigation management within the assigned jurisdiction and shall be responsible for safeguarding the legal interests of KPEZDMC before all Courts, Tribunals, and quasi-judicial forums. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Court Attendance & Liaison:
    Ensure regular attendance before the assigned Courts and maintain effective liaison with Court officials, panel counsel, and other administrative offices at Courts.

  2. Litigation Monitoring:
    Monitor all litigation assigned, including daily cause lists, hearing schedules, case progress, and compliance requirements, and promptly report all significant developments to the Head of the Company's Legal Department.

  3. Document Preparation & Filing:
    Coordinate with panel counsel to ensure timely preparation, filing, and prosecution of all pleadings, applications, replies, affidavits, wakalatnamas, written statements, appeals, and other legal documents.

  4. Communication of Court Orders:
    Obtain and promptly communicate copies of court orders, judgments, notices, summons, and hearing schedules to the Company's Legal Department and all concerned offices, while ensuring timely implementation of all judicial directions.

  5. Coordination with Stakeholders:
    Maintain close coordination with the Company's Head Office and Zone Offices, government departments, and other stakeholders for obtaining records, comments, evidence, affidavits, and other documents required for effective conduct of litigation.

  6. Attendance of Representatives:
    Ensure timely attendance of panel counsel, departmental representatives, witnesses, and KPEZDMC officials before Courts, whenever required, and immediately report any lapse, negligence, or non-compliance affecting litigation.

  7. Record Maintenance:
    Maintain complete and up-to-date litigation records, including physical and electronic case files, and regularly update the Litigation Management System (LMS) or any other case management mechanism prescribed by KPEZDMC.

  8. Administrative Matters:
    Process litigation-related administrative matters, including engagement of counsel, execution of Wakalatnamas, verification and processing of legal fee bills, and other case-related documentation in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.

  9. Compliance Monitoring:
    Maintain a litigation compliance calendar and proactively monitor compliance with all court directions, ensuring that no judicial timelines or statutory requirements are missed.

  10. Periodic Reporting:
    Submit periodic litigation status reports, highlighting pending cases, upcoming hearings, compliance status, legal risks, and matters requiring immediate attention by the Head of the Company's Legal Department.

  11. Immediate Reporting of Risks:
    Immediately report any adverse order, ex parte proceedings, contempt risk, limitation issue, negligence by counsel, or any matter likely to prejudice the legal interests of KPEZDMC, together with recommendations for remedial action.

  12. Additional Assignments:
    Perform any other litigation, legal coordination, or Court-related assignment entrusted by the Head of the Company's Legal Department or the Competent Authority from time to time.


ACCOUNTABILITY

The incumbent shall be responsible for ensuring effective coordination, monitoring, and timely management of all litigation assigned to his/her jurisdiction and shall exercise due diligence to protect the legal interests of KPEZDMC through proactive case management, timely reporting, and strict compliance with judicial directions.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

 
Criteria Requirements
Academic Qualification At least a degree (16 years of education) in Law – LLB / LLB (Hons) – from an accredited law school/institution.
Bar Council License Must hold a license of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council to practice at the High Court.
Experience At least Six (06) years of relevant experience since the date of enrollment as an Advocate District Court.
Legal Expertise Proven experience in commercial, company, corporate, industrial, and labour laws.
Interpersonal Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to positively interact with all stakeholders.
Writing Skills Strong report writing and proposal writing skills.
Computer Skills Well-developed computer skills in MS Word / MS Office.
