Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is responsible for providing policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), integrated planning of Pakistan’s power sector, and the development and monitoring of strategic plans and performance of sector entities in line with approved policies.
PPMC is seeking applications from eligible candidates for the following Management Trainee Officer (MTO) positions. The ideal candidates must have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in IT and integrity in handling confidential information are essential.
Develop and apply economic models and simulations to support policy analysis.
Estimate key economic parameters to inform recommendations.
Maintain and update economic databases for decision-making.
Analyze economic trends impacting the energy industry.
Conduct forecasting and data-driven policy research.
Review academic literature to improve modeling and analysis.
Contribute to reports, research papers, and policy briefs.
Coordinate tasks effectively and build productive working relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related fields from an HEC-recognized institution.
Fresh graduates from reputable universities are encouraged to apply.
Learn and apply GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapinfo, Global Mapper.
Assist in creating and managing spatial databases and metadata.
Support spatial data analysis and mapping for planning and reporting.
Help develop web maps using Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS Online.
Perform remote sensing tasks (e.g., imagery analysis).
Prepare visual reports: maps, charts, data visualizations.
Document GIS processes and maintain standard procedures (SOPs).
Contribute to automation using Python, R, or JavaScript (with guidance).
Attend training to develop GIS proficiency.
Troubleshoot GIS issues and escalate technical challenges.
Stay updated on industry GIS trends and best practices.
Collaborate with teams to meet GIS requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Space Science, Geology, Computer Science, or related fields.
Basic knowledge of GIS tools and mapping concepts.
Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) is a plus.
Interest in GIS programming (Python, R, JavaScript).
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively or independently.
A minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00 or 4.00/5.00, or 80% marks (local graduates) and 65% (foreign graduates) is required. Degree must not be older than 3 years from the advertisement date.
Foreign degree holders must provide HEC/PEC equivalency.
Maximum age limit is 30 years as of the advertisement’s closing date. No age relaxation will be given.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 100,000 (lump sum).
Initial engagement will be for one year, after which candidates may be evaluated for permanent positions (Assistant Specialist/Manager) subject to availability. Otherwise, the contract will end automatically.
