Advertisement for the Position of General Manager – Production / Asset Operations

Our client, one of Pakistan’s largest publicly traded oil & gas producers, and an equal opportunity employer, is seeking to hire a highly experienced and dynamic professional for the position of General Manager – Production / Asset Operations.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the incumbent will hold full accountability for overseeing both operated and partner-operated assets. The role requires strategic leadership to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and mission while delivering safe, efficient, and optimized production performance.

The position is responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies that enhance production efficiency, manage operational risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all producing assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to Asset Heads/Managers to ensure uninterrupted production and sales across all producing assets.

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term production strategies aligned with approved joint venture programs and budgets.

  • Monitor operational performance, production targets, and development plans to ensure optimal asset utilization.

  • Apply fit-for-purpose technologies and allocate resources effectively to maximize operational efficiency.

  • Optimize operating and capital expenditures within approved budgets through disciplined cost controls and strategic asset management.

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of field development plans while minimizing lifting costs and operational disruptions.

  • Develop annual business plans and budgets, formulate robust functional strategies, and implement relevant policies.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team while ensuring strict adherence to QHSE standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Represent the company at industry forums, institutional platforms, and with regulators and government ministries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 19 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.

  • At least 15 years in production and engineering roles.

  • Minimum 8 years in senior management positions.

Candidates will be screened for career continuity and retirement age compliance.

Compensation
