Forest Department is a large scale division of the Government of Punjab. It is called Forest, Wildfire and Fisheries Department. Punjab province has largest population. This territory has various types of terrain like forests, mountain ranges, artificial forest like Changa Manga, Rivers and Deserts etc. There is also wildlife living there like many living in National Parks, some of them are living in wildlife sanctuaries, games reserves, zoos, wildlife parks and safari zoo of Lahore. Lot of aquatic life live in rivers, lakes, ponds and others. Forest Department is headed by the secretaries.

There are two of them. First is of the forest department while other one is of wildlife. These secretaries are assisted further by additional secretary. Each department is presided by director. There are many directors working in different divisions. Forest Department has lot of functions to do. It makes policy for the conservation of the forests. Different programs are launched in this regard. Natural resources of Punjab are also safeguarded by the Punjab Forest Department. Many of the wood and wood related products are also managed like Timber, Firewood and other goods. Protection of forests from cutting by different illegal means. Department tries to plant new forests and nurseries.

There are many Forest Department Government Jobs for different categories of professionals. Employees are recruited according to the recruitment policy of 2004. Five years in the age is provided to many of the candidates. Employees are given salaries according to the Basic Pay Scale. It is a government system of the government employees.
