Food Department is one of the most important department of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Federal Government gave orders of its construction in 1949. Major crop of our country are wheat and rice. AJK Government is funding production of the flour.

The geology of the AJ&K is primarily mountainous and hilly with valleys fields. Most of the provincial population relies on upon ranger service, domesticated animals, direct and indirect farming.
