Career Opportunity: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Government of Punjab invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board (PLDDB). PLDDB is seeking a visionary and dynamic professional with entrepreneurial skills to lead initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable livestock and dairy development in Punjab.

Role Overview

The CEO will:

  • Provide strategic leadership to realize the company’s vision and objectives.

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource management.

  • Ensure efficient operations with strong financial systems and control mechanisms.

  • Develop local supply chains and explore international markets.

  • Build partnerships with government agencies, private sector, and international organizations.

  • Promote investment opportunities, foster sector growth, and maintain a positive corporate culture.

  • Plan and manage human resources to meet company goals.

  • Assist the Board of Directors in developing and executing long-term strategies.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with government, corporate, and public stakeholders at national and international levels.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

  • Minimum: Master's degree / 16 years of education in:

    • Agriculture

    • Veterinary Sciences

    • Management Sciences

    • Business Administration
      (from an HEC recognized institution)

  • Additional Considerations:

    • Higher or foreign qualifications will receive additional marks.

    • Diversified qualifications in the above fields are considered an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience, with:

    • At least 5 years in a senior leadership/administrative role in policy, planning, development, or financial/business management.

    • Experience in a Section 42 Company will be preferred.

Key Competencies

  • Strong understanding of:

    • International trade (livestock & dairy)

    • Food safety and hygiene regulations

    • Government regulations and corporate governance

  • Proven leadership, high integrity, strategic mindset, and interpersonal skills.
