Career Opportunities

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the apex regulator of Pakistan’s capital markets and corporate sector, is inviting applications from highly qualified, results-driven, energetic, and enthusiastic legal professionals with impeccable integrity for the following contractual positions in its Prosecution and Legal Affairs Division:

1. Division Head / Executive Director

(Prosecution & Legal Affairs Division – Islamabad)
No. of Positions: 01

Qualifications:

  • LL.B. or LL.M. from an HEC-recognized, reputable university.

  • Must be enrolled as an advocate of the High Court.

  • Preference given to:

    • Advocates enrolled with the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

    • Professionals with reported judgments in corporate law.

    • Candidates with experience in legal advisory and legislative drafting.

Post-Qualification Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in corporate law.

  • At least 5 years in a senior legal leadership role (e.g., Head of Legal in a reputed organization).

  • Preference for those with:

    • Bar-at-Law after LL.B.

    • LL.M. degree.

    • Prior experience in the financial sector.

  • Must demonstrate leadership, policy advisory expertise, and strategic oversight.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 55 years (as of application deadline).

Job Nature & Duration:

  • Contractual: 3 years (extendable based on need and performance).

2. Director

(Prosecution and Civil Litigation Department – P&CLD, Karachi)
No. of Positions: 01

Qualifications:

  • LL.B. or LL.M. from an HEC-recognized, reputable university.

  • Must be enrolled as an advocate of the High Court.

  • Preference given to:

    • Candidates with Bar-at-Law after LL.B.

    • Candidates with LL.M. degree.

    • Experience in the financial sector.

Post-Qualification Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably in:

    • Corporate law

    • Criminal prosecution (white-collar crimes)

    • Corporate advisory

Note:

Applicants must clearly provide:

  • Details of at least 10 reported cases.

  • Details of at least 50 decided cases (preferably related to corporate matters).

  • A list of pending Trial and High Court cases as Independent Counsel or Public Prosecutor.

  • Details of 5 relevant positions held.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 50 years (as of application deadline).

Job Nature & Duration:

  • Contractual: 3 years (extendable based on need and performance).

  • May be regularized after three years, subject to meeting prescribed criteria.
