Vacant Positions Announcement

The Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences at Government College University (GCU), Lahore invites applications from qualified and suitable candidates for the following vacant positions. Applicants who meet the required qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply.

1. Director General

Maximum Age Limit: 65 years
Tenure: 4 years (contract basis)

Salary Package:
The selected candidate will receive a salary package equivalent to the maximum salary admissible to a Professor under the Tenure Track System (TTS).

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

A. Educational Qualification

• A Ph.D. degree in a relevant field of Mathematical Sciences from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

B. Professional Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of teaching or research experience in institutes or universities recognized by HEC.

• Experience may also include work in national or international organizations.

• Out of the total experience, at least 5 years must be in an administrative role.

C. Research Publications

• At least 20 research publications in international research journals categorized as “W” category by HEC.

• Among these publications, at least 5 must have been published within the last five years.

D. Academic Recognition

• The candidate must have recognized research contributions acknowledged by technologically advanced countries, as prescribed by the Higher Education Commission for mathematical research.

2. Finance and Administrative Officer (BS-18)

Age Limit: 35 years
Number of Posts: 01

Eligibility Criteria

• CA, MBA, or M.Com degree with at least Second Division.

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Accounts or Finance.

3. Computer Programmer (BPS-18)

Age Limit: 35 years
Number of Posts: 01

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science from a recognized university.

• The degree must be obtained with at least Second Division.

Application Procedure

Candidates interested in applying for the above positions must follow the steps below:

   • The form must be printed on legal-size pages.

2. Processing Fee

   • Applicants must submit a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 3,000 for each post.

   • The fee can be deposited through the following methods:

     • Challan at HBL, GCU Branch

     • Online transfer to HBL Account No. 2398-70001616-03

     • Bank Draft / Demand Draft / Postal Order in favor of “Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore”

   • The original bank receipt or draft must be attached with the application form.

3. Submission of Application

   • The completed application form must be submitted along with:

     • Attested copies of all educational certificates

     • Experience certificates

     • Copy of CNIC

     • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)

   • Applications must be sent by post to the Registrar’s Office.

4. Application Deadline

   • The last date for submission of applications is 31 March 2026.

Important Instructions

• Candidates currently working in government or semi-government departments must apply through the proper channel.

• Such applicants must attach a Departmental Permission Certificate or No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent department.
