National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) is a public limited company looking for a high caliber experienced individual for the following position

DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR
(SYSTEM OPERATION)

Consistent with the objectives of the government to reform the power sector, the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and the Board of Directors of NTDC have initiated action plans to transform NTDC into a dynamic corporate entity to meet with the emerging challenges in the power sector in the country. These include modernization and improvement of system reliability, asset management, automation, system operation, and establishment of the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM).
The position of Deputy Managing Director (System Operation) will be responsible for leading the system operation transformation within NTDC and will be expected to lead on behalf of NTDC the establishment and operationalization of CTBCM. The position is based in Islamabad, Pakistan, and will directly report to NTDC's Managing Director. The incumbent will work closely with the Board of Directors of NTDC to ensure the implementation and monitoring of assigned objectives.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & AGE

The candidate should either have (a) Ph.D. degree with at least 12 years' post qualification experience, or (b) Master's degree with at least 15 years' post qualification experience, in the energy sector preferably in system operation and/or energy markets.
The candidate should preferably have experience of commodity/energy trading and knowledge and understanding of competitive energy market regimes. Experience of working in an electric utility related to market operation and trading will be preferable.
For the public sector candidate, the experience should include a minimum of three (3) years at grade 20 or equivalent positions.
The candidate should not be more than 55 years of age on the closing date of this advertisement.
Educational qualifications will be considered only from HEC recognised universities or universities listed in 2021 "OS World University Rankings" of top 1000 universities.
