VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the following position:

Position Title:

Deputy Director (Transport & Bus Operations)

Reporting Line:

Reports directly to the Director (Operations)

Key Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the bus fleet operations and generate periodic reports based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Analyze and interpret operational data at the Command and Control Center.

  • Provide technical and mechanical advice related to bus operations and fleet management.

  • Ensure strict enforcement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and efficient maintenance of the bus depot.

  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Management or SMTA.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

  • Higher qualifications, specialization, or foreign degrees in public transport systems, BRT operations, or fleet management will be considered an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in urban transport operations, BRT systems, fleet scheduling, or contract management.

  • Successful applicants will be offered a market-based remuneration package as per government guidelines.

  • No TA/DA will be provided for interview purposes.

  • Maximum age limit is 38 years at the time of application.

  • Appointment will be made purely on a contract basis for one year, renewable based on satisfactory performance.
