VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Digital Communication Department (DCD), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Islamabad invites applications from qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals for various contract-based positions under a PSDP-funded project. These positions are based in Islamabad and are purely contractual.

1. Deputy Assistant Director (IT)

Pay Scale: PPS-06

No. of Posts: 1

Job Description:

Analyze, plan, design, and install new personal computer systems.

Review, monitor, and upgrade existing IT infrastructure.

Manage database and ensure secure backups; take immediate remedial action in case of system failures.

Install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software.

Understand user-specific hardware/software requirements.

Must possess a sound understanding of software applications and system administration.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

16 years of education with at least 2nd Class/Grade ‘C’ in:

Computer Science / IT / Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized university, or

Computer Engineering / Computer System Engineering from a PEC-recognized university.

Age Limit: Maximum 25 years (relaxable as per government rules).

Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

IT systems

System administration

OS and software installation.

2. Data Center Technician (IT) – Evening & Night Shift

Pay Scale: PPS-05

No. of Posts: 2

Job Description:

Provide ICT coordination and support to project staff.

Assist in Network Operation Center (NOC) tasks including maintenance and monitoring of IT systems.

Monitor operations on-site and remotely.

Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

DAE or 14 years of education (2nd Class/Grade ‘C’) in:

Computer Science / IT / Electronics / Telecommunications / Networking from an HEC-recognized institution, OR

Intermediate with Diploma in IT/Computer from a recognized institution.

Experience: Preferably 0–1 year in data center operations, network support, or IT infrastructure.

Age Limit: 18–35 years.

Preference: Given to those with PSDP project experience.

3. Data Center Technician (Power & HVAC)

Pay Scale: PPS-05

No. of Posts: 1

Job Description:

Responsible for daily operations and maintenance of power, electrical, and cooling systems in the data center.

Ensure functionality of UPS, HVAC, and other critical infrastructure components.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education: Associate degree or 14 years of education in:

Power / Electrical / Electronics / HVAC / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized board.

Experience: Preferably 0–1 year in:

UPS, HVAC, power systems, and data center maintenance.

Age Limit: 18–35 years.

Preference: Experience in PSDP projects, particularly in public sector.

4. Farash

Pay Scale: PPS-01

No. of Posts: 2

Job Description:

Responsible for general cleanliness and hygiene maintenance of the project office and Data Center.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education: Primary pass (preferred).

Experience: Preferably 1 year in cleaning and maintenance services.

Age Limit: 18–25 years.

Preference: Experience in office environments with good hygiene practices.

5. Jamadar

Pay Scale: PPS-01

No. of Posts: 2

Job Description:

Responsible for cleaning duties in the Data Center and project office.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education: Primary pass (preferred).

Experience: Preferably 1 year as:

Office attendant, dispatch rider, or watchman in government/semi-government/private organization.

Age Limit: 18–25 years.

Preference: Experience in office errands and administrative tasks.

General Terms & Conditions:

Gender: Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Location: All positions are based in Islamabad.

Contract Duration: Initially for one year or till project completion (whichever comes first).

Selection: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview.

TA/DA: No TA/DA will be admissible.

Number of Posts: May be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Ministry.
