Vacancy Announcement

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and experienced professionals for the following contractual position:

Position Title:

Deputy Director (Transport & Bus Operations)

Functions and Duties:

The Deputy Director will be responsible for overseeing critical operational aspects of SMTA’s bus transport systems. The main responsibilities include:

  • Reporting directly to the Director (Operations).

  • Managing the entire bus fleet and generating reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Reviewing and analyzing statistics and operational data from the Command and Control Center.

  • Providing technical and mechanical guidance relating to bus operations and fleet management.

  • Ensuring strict enforcement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and overseeing maintenance activities at the bus depot.

  • Performing any other task assigned by the senior management of SMTA.

Qualification, Experience & Other Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification:
    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline from a HEC-recognized university.
    Preference will be given to candidates holding higher or foreign qualifications, particularly in areas such as public transport systems, BRT operations, or fleet management.

  • Experience:
    A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in relevant fields such as:

    • Urban transport operations

    • Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems

    • Fleet scheduling

    • Contract management
