CAREER OPPORTUNITY — COMPANY SECRETARY

Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company (PHDEC), a leading organization under the Government of Pakistan dedicated to the development and promotion of the horticulture sector, is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, and experienced professional to fill the position of Company Secretary.

This role is critical for ensuring corporate compliance, effective governance, and smooth organizational operations.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • Member of a recognized body of professional accountants (ICAP / ICMAP); OR

  • Member of a recognized body of corporate or chartered secretaries (ICSP); OR

  • Law Degree from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum five (05) years of relevant post-qualification experience in corporate, legal, or regulatory affairs.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in Public Sector Companies (PSCs) and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with corporate governance and statutory obligations under:

    • The Companies Act, 2017

    • The Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013

    • The SOEs Ownership and Management Policy, 2023

  • Organize, coordinate, and document Board and Committee Meetings, including preparation and maintenance of minutesresolutions, and statutory records.

  • Act as the primary liaison with SECP and other regulatory authorities.

  • Provide expert advice to the Board of Directors on matters of corporate governance, legal frameworks, and compliance obligations.

  • Oversee corporate filings, disclosures, and statutory reporting to relevant authorities.


Other Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of legalregulatory, and corporate governance frameworks in Pakistan.

  • Excellent communicationinterpersonal, and drafting skills.

  • Maximum Age: 40 years (at the time of application).


Terms of Appointment

  • Nature of Employment: Contract-based position

  • Duration: Three (03) years, renewable based on performance and mutual agreement.
