HIRING FOR THE POSITION OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), a state-owned enterprise listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, serves as the national flag carrier of Pakistan. Operating a diversified fleet of vessels, PNSC ensures the seamless transportation of goods and promotes the country’s global maritime presence.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on a contractual basis, initially for two years. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the Corporation's strategic financial direction and overseeing financial operations in alignment with corporate goals.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

Must be a member of a recognized professional accounting body.

Experience

At least 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Age Limit

Maximum age limit: 50 years.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

Formulate and execute financial strategies that support both short-term objectives and long-term growth of the Corporation.
Lead financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning.
Guide the Corporation in financial decisions that improve operational efficiency, promote sustainable growth, and enhance competitiveness in the maritime sector.

2. Treasury Management

Lead the development and implementation of treasury functions including long-term project financing, capital structuring, and risk management.
Manage currency risks, market conditions, and liquidity requirements in support of global operations.

3. Tax Management & Strategic Tax Planning

Oversee tax planning and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Develop tax-efficient strategies for investments and vessel financing structures.

Other Requirements

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proven leadership with strong people management capabilities.
High standards of integrity, empathy, and sound decision-making.
Deep understanding of financial systems and knowledge of the shipping industry is preferred.
The appointment shall be made in line with the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2020, Ownership and Management Policy 2023, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ordinance, 1979 (as amended), and CMU Guidelines for C-Level Appointments.
The incumbent must meet the fitness and propriety criteria in accordance with Schedule IV of the SOEs Act and Companies Act, 2017.
Initial appointment will be for two years, extendable based on performance.
