CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Punjab Grid Company Limited (PGCL), fully owned by the Government of the Punjab (GoPb), is a public sector entity under the Energy Department, GoPb. PGCL has been established to undertake electricity transmission services within Punjab. PGCL invites applications for the following key positions:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

  • Report to the Company's Board of Directors and effectively work to support the growth of the Company's business through expansion of the power market in the province as well as in the country; in addition to management of operations.

  • Responsible for strategic development and implementation of initiatives to achieve the performance targets set by the Provincial Government and the Board.

  • Provide vision and leadership to professionals, ensure future leadership succession planning.

  • Engage with stakeholders and players in the sector at top levels, having close liaison with the regulator, federal government, relevant other provinces, private investors, financial institutions, and power consumers.

  • Keep abreast with development initiatives like Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM) and the role of the company.

  • Overall supervision of Maintenance of the transmission grid system, internally by Operations and through outsourcing.

  • Assist the Board of Directors in identifying legal and financial risks.

  • Ensure that the company complies with all statutory regulations.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

  • Responsible for supervising the Finance & Accounts department.

  • Prepare annual budget and financial statements.

  • Prepare business and investment plans, policies, and procedures.

  • Supervise connection agreements and transmission lines.

  • Identification of potential projects under development, Provincial Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

  • Oversee various generation projects, National Grid, or isolated systems.

Company Secretary (CS)

  • Secretarial responsibilities of the Board, including scheduling of meetings, drafting & issuance of minutes.

  • Responsibility to the CEO or PGCL Board.

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

01 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) from HEC recognized university.
• Master's degree would be preferred.
• Relevant experience in the power sector, out of which five years' experience must be at CEO level.
• Experience in regulatory affairs and tariff matters given preference.		 50 years
02 Chief Financial Officer (CFO) • Candidate holding professional accounting qualification from a recognized body.
• Experience in finance/tariff-related matters in the power sector.
• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from HEC recognized university would be an added advantage.		 50 years
03 Company Secretary (CS) • From HEC recognized institution.
• Relevant experience in corporate secretarial matters.		 40 years

  1. All appointments will be made as per General Rules and Appointment Guidelines.

  2. Hiring/appointment of CEO must meet the Public Companies (Appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines, 2015.
