PAKISTAN ELECTRONIC MEDIA REGULATORY AUTHORITY (PEMRA)

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Post: Chairperson, PEMRA

Applications are invited for the post of Chairperson of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) under Section 6 & Section 7 of the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

Requirement Details
Professional Standing Must be an eminent professional with known integrity and competence.
Experience Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in any of the following fields:
- Media
- Business
- Management
- Finance
- Economics
- Law
Education Minimum of 16 years of education (or equivalent) from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan or abroad.
Age Limit Maximum age limit is 61 years as of the closing date for application.
Government Servants Eligible government employees may apply through proper channel.

Responsibilities:

The Chairperson will perform all duties as prescribed under the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023.

Tenure:

  • Duration: 4 years

  • Retirement Age: Mandatory retirement upon reaching 65 years of age

Salary & Benefits:

  • Remuneration will be as per the MP-I Scale under the Management Position Policy, 2020, Government of Pakistan.
