Situation Vacant

The Government of the Punjab, Agriculture Department, invites applications from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for recruitment on a contract basis under the development project titled:

“Revival of Citrus Sector in Punjab (2024-25 to 2027-28)”

The positions are under the administrative control of the Chief Scientist Agriculture (Research) at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute, Faisalabad.

Vacant Positions

1. Cluster Manager

  • Place of Posting: Citrus Research Institute, Sargodha

  • Pay Package Scale (PPS): 08

  • Number of Posts: 02

  • Maximum Age Limit: 45 Years

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Ph.D. in Agriculture (Horticulture) OR

    • M.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture (Horticulture) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification relevant experience, preferably in the Citrus sector.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Sound understanding of horticultural farming practices.

2. Senior Research Associate (Horticulture)

  • Place of Posting: Citrus Research Center, Toba Tek Singh

  • Pay Package Scale (PPS): 07

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Maximum Age Limit: 40 Years

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Ph.D. in Agriculture (Horticulture) OR

    • M.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture (Horticulture) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification relevant experience, preferably in the Citrus sector.

General Instructions / Notes:

  1. No relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible.

  2. If a candidate holds a degree other than those specified, an equivalence certificate from HEC/Competent Forum must be provided.

  3. Retired government servants are not eligible to apply.

  4. Contract appointments are temporary, non-transferable, job-specific, non-pensionable, and do not confer any right to regularization.

  5. Initial appointment will be for one year, extendable up to the project duration, subject to approval by the competent authority.

  6. In case of change in the project period, contract terms will be amended accordingly.

  7. Recruitment will be done strictly on merit and on an all Punjab basis, as per criteria approved in the PC-1.

      • Completed form clearly indicating the post applied for

      • Detailed CV

      • Three recent passport-sized photographs

      • Attested copies of all relevant documents, CNIC, certificates, degrees, DMCs (with CGPA), Hafiz-e-Quran certificate (if applicable), position certificates, and any relevant release orders (for ex-servicemen).

    • Last date for submission: 21.05.2025

    • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

    • However, submission of a hard copy of the application along with the documents is mandatory.

  10. The list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board three (3) days prior to the interview.

  11. List of successful candidates will be posted on the Notice Board and appointment letters will be issued after approval by the Department Selection/Recruitment Committee.

  13. Selected candidates will not be entitled to pay protection or regularization.
