Students in their educational career tend to increase their score in order to avoid being under-merit in their future goals. Matriculation is the basis of your academic career and therefore students take a lot of stress to score good in matriculation. Most of the students try to repeat class 9th in case they don’t get desired marks and in this way, many students lose one year. Students can repeat 9th class but there are number of limitations.

According to the Rules and Regulations of the educational Boards, one student who has already appeared in Part 1 (pass or fail) can not appear in the Part 1 exams only the next year, rather have to give both the Part 1 and Part 2 exams. A regular candidate will be allowed to appear in both Part 1 and Part 2 exams, in case, only if they have failed in Part 1 exam. But private students can give both exams together. You cannot continue to be a regular student if you repeat because you cannot appear only in part 1 exam, you will have to give both. To repeat, you will have to register again to give only Part 1 exams.

To avoid all the above hustle, students are advised to go for improving their marks rather repeating a class again. Point 32 of the Punjab Board Act states that students can opt for ‘improvement of division’. This is a safe and time saving method as it won’t let one year to be wasted in repeating SSC 1 and there are 70% chances of improvement. If a student improves, they have to submit their old result card to get a new one with improved marks on it. If a student fails to improve, previous result will remain intact.

Punjab’s education department is diligently working to ensure a fair, cheating proof and unbiased educational system. Both the public and private schools will be graded on the same criteria.
