Lahore: On Tuesday, the school teachers held a protest outside the Punjab Assembly against the ‘harsh punishments’ by the government as well as other problems.
During protest, they said that if the government did not resolve their problems in a month or so they stage another protest on The Mall together with their families after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Holding banner along with the placards, the teachers chanted slogans against the government for not taking an action on their ‘legal’ demands.
Furthermore, they complained that the government shifted the teachers to other divisions on minor issues.
The convener of United Teachers Council Tariq Mahmood said that 14th, 16th as well as 17th grade must be given to PSTs, ESTs and SSTs, respectively.
The government had promised to upgrade all these scales, he added.

He moreover added that the teachers were victimized in the name of dengue, dropout of apsirants as well as attendance.
